Defect Tracking Management
The most important aspect of any software product is its quality and an important source of quality metrics is the defects. These defects, exposed while testing the software, have to be fixed to ensure quality. In order to do so, these defects or bugs need to be managed, evaluated and prioritized. If a good defect tracking management is in place these bugs can be managed easily.
Now, there are several defect tracking tools available. Of these some are integrated with a test management system. These are a good investment because when defects are filed, it is not hidden in any database but displayed on dashboards and the defect charts are updated the moment a bug is filed as it allows live tracking. This helps the testers to get info like the location of the bugs, the backlogs and their priorities instantly. The testers can search and browse the defects filed in a number of ways with these bug tracking systems.
Thus, a good defect tracking management helps the testers not only in finding the bugs easily but also in closing it out.
