Need for Security Testing
Today, most of the financial transactions are conducted using internet as it is easy and convenient and a lot of sensitive data is passed on. Since a lot of critical information is stored and transferred, it has led to the rise of identity theft resulting in loss of money for the individual as well as the organization. So it is highly recommended to keep the sites, which deal with critical information, secure from hackers. This is possible through security testing.
The testers not only have to secure the sites or networks but also have to ensure that it maintains its functionality. So while doing security testing for any software, the testers have to make sure that the six basic security concepts are covered. They are confidentiality, integrity, authentication, authorization, availability and non-repudiation.
But the success ratio of this kind of testing depends on an effective test management system. As there are several advanced test management systems available, it has made the task of the testers trouble-free.
